Nirup Island is a small resort island in Indonesia's Riau Islands, eight nautical miles from both Singapore and Batam. Horizon Fast Ferry sails there from HarbourFront in about 45 minutes, usually once a day and on every day of the week except Thursday. The ferry carries foot passengers only.
Terminal and getting there
The ferry leaves from the HarbourFront Passenger Terminal, 5 HarbourFront Avenue, above HarbourFront MRT station (North East and Circle Line, Exit B). By taxi it is 10 to 15 minutes from the city centre and 25 to 30 minutes from Changi Airport. The HarbourFront terminal guide has the bus lines and facilities.
Check-in
According to Horizon, baggage check-in at HarbourFront closes 20 minutes before departure. Passport control and the security check come on top. With Horizon's open-ticket feature you get your boarding pass after logging in.
Luggage
20 kg of checked baggage per boarding pass is included, plus one piece of hand luggage of up to 10 kg and 55 x 40 x 20 cm. Excess and bulky items are charged.
Arrival on Nirup Island
Nirup belongs to Indonesia, so the crossing is an international one. Check before you travel whether your nationality needs Indonesia's e-VOA, with a passport valid for at least six months, and fill in the digital arrival card. The sailings from Nirup back to HarbourFront are in the departures on this page; Singapore asks for the SG Arrival Card on return. Nirup is also 45 minutes from Harbour Bay on Batam.
