Bintan Resort Ferries is the only operator and sails the route several times a day, with the first departure from Singapore in the morning and the last in the late afternoon. The crossing takes about 70 minutes. The ferries carry foot passengers only; there are no cabins and no vehicles.
Terminal and getting there
The ferries leave from Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal in the east of Singapore. Take the MRT to Bedok or Tanah Merah and change to bus 35 to the terminal; by taxi it is 20 to 30 minutes from the city centre and 10 to 15 minutes from Changi Airport. The Tanah Merah terminal guide has the facilities.
Check-in and documents
Bintan Resort Ferries closes check-in 40 minutes before departure, and passengers who have not checked in by then are treated as no-shows. The operator recommends arriving at the BRF counter 90 minutes before departure. Bring your passport and your booking number.
Luggage
In standard class, 20 kg of baggage per person is included; Emerald Class allows 30 kg. Excess baggage is charged at the terminal's rates. Animals are not allowed on board.
